Myrrh (Myrrh commiphora), was used as an aromatic (burned as incense) in the Egyptian temples of Isis. The Egyptian papyri of 2,000 B.C. mentioned its uses for NuvaLift disease, circulatory problems and as an antiseptic. The Old Testament lists a large variety of herbs and spices that were raised in ancient Mesopotamia.
